2. Who this notice is for
This notice is written for people in the United Kingdom. Kynaris KT Viewer is a 2D live-traffic demonstration viewer offered as a partner trial. It is not a public consumer product and it is not paid-for.
This notice covers only this application. It does not cover other Kynaris products or websites.
3. Information we process about you
We focus on information that relates to you as a user of the app:
- Technical connection data, such as IP address, date and time, request URL, and browser user-agent, created when your device loads the app or its API.
- A record on your device that you agreed to the Terms of Use and this notice (see section 5).
- Optional display settings you choose (for example dark map, street-tile source, labels, or alert values), stored on your device.
The app also displays live traffic on a map. That operational picture is not used to profile you. Map and library credits are listed on the Data and licences page and on the map itself.
4. Why we process it
We process this information to run the trial, keep the service secure, and remember your choices.
The lawful bases we rely on under UK GDPR are:
- Legitimate interests — operating a limited trial, security, fault-finding, hosting, and keeping strictly necessary records and preferences on your device so the trial works.
- Contract — providing the trial on the Terms of Use you accept, including a record of that acceptance.
The splash screen still asks you to accept device storage before you continue. That is so you know what is stored. It is not a separate marketing-cookie choice; if you refuse, you should leave the app.
5. Storage on your device
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The splash screen asks you to accept strictly necessary storage before you use the app. That storage includes:
- Your agreement to the Terms of Use and this notice, and the document version.
- Display and tool preferences (for example dark map, street-tile source, labels, or alert settings).
This uses the browser’s local storage (and similar), not third-party marketing cookies. You can clear it in your browser. If you do, the splash screen will ask again.
6. Who we share information with
We use Fly.io to host the app in London, United Kingdom. They process connection data as our processor to deliver the service.
Default street map images are fetched by our servers from an internal raster service in the same UK region, then returned to your browser from this app.
If you select CARTO street tiles, your browser requests those tiles from CARTO. CARTO processes truncated technical request data (IP address and referrer) as our processor, in the United States, for 30 days, under CARTO’s basemap terms and processor terms.
The page also loads mapping libraries from public CDNs (for example unpkg). Those operators receive the technical data that any website request sends.
We do not sell your information.
7. Transfers outside the UK
Hosting for this app is in the United Kingdom. CARTO (if you select it) and some CDNs that serve mapping libraries may process technical request data in other countries, including the United States.
8. Children
You must be 13 or older to use Kynaris KT Viewer without a parent or guardian. If you are under 13, a parent or guardian must agree to the Terms of Use and this notice before you use the app. 13 is the UK age for information-society services under UK GDPR.
9. How long we keep it
- Connection logs: up to 30 days, unless we need them longer to investigate abuse or a security incident.
- Live traffic trails on our servers: about 2 hours.
- Service health records: up to 365 days.
- Device storage: until you clear it or it expires in your browser.
10. Your rights
You have rights under UK GDPR, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, and objection to processing based on legitimate interests. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
To use these rights, use the contact details in section 1.
11. Changes
If we change this notice in a material way, we will update the date and version above. A new version may ask you to agree again on the splash screen.
